China visa fingerprints and appointments

Most people applying for a China visa in the UK must attend a visa centre to give fingerprints. Here’s how China visa fingerprints and appointments work, and where the centres are.

Where are the China visa centres in the UK?

The Chinese Visa Application Service Centre has centres in London, Manchester and Edinburgh. You choose the centre when you book. Our Manchester office is a short walk from the Manchester centre.

Who needs to give China visa fingerprints?

Most applicants aged 14 to 70 must give fingerprints in person. Some people who have given fingerprints recently may be exempt. Children under 14 and people over 70 are usually exempt, but may still need to attend or send someone on their behalf.

What happens at the appointment

Bring your passport, printed form, photo and supporting documents. Staff check your papers, take your fingerprints and keep your passport while the visa is processed. You return to collect it, or arrange collection.

How we help

We complete your form, check every document and book your appointment, so your visit is quick and you don’t need a second trip.
